We are looking for a Commodity Manager to be responsible for the sourcing, purchasing, and scheduling of all materials within your allocated commodity. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for the whole supply chain from choosing appropriate suppliers through to delivery to support production demands, ensuring an uninterrupted supply at lowest cost and agreed quality. The Role: Sourcing - new suppliers and materials at the best cost for the business. Pre qualifying and approval of suppliers, always ensuring suppliers are approved internally in line with ISO procedures. Maintain the ERP systems with the price, lead-time and supplier details as necessary to enable purchase orders to be raised. Issuing requests for quotations to approved suppliers for any new parts added to the Bill of Materials are issued in good time. Costing - Responsible for maintaining the material cost on the Bill of Materials for all products within your assigned commodities. Provide costings and logical arguments to help with make or buy decisions. Compare drawings of new parts with existing parts to ensure cost increases or decreases are justified. Monitor commodity price movements and take appropriate steps to secure lowest cost for the company. Supplier Management - Issue suppliers with monthly/quarterly forecasts in order improve supply chain performance. Ensure supplier capacity is in line with Wrightbus needs and appropriate strategies created to ensure same. Actively pursue cost reduction initiatives within your assigned commodities. Conduct supplier reviews in order to optimize the relationship. Management of supplier contracts. The Requirements: Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain / related degree OR Experience in a senior materials role within a manufacturing environment. Proven contract preparation, Experience in sourcing from best cost countries. People management experience, Computer literate being proficient in excel. Influencing/persuasive skills, Problem solving skills, Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff. Demonstrated project management skills. Proven supplier relationship management and supplier negotiation skills. Good communication, team working ability, Willing to undertake and provide training as required.
