About the Role
A Project Architect within Architecture and Software Solutions defines architectural solutions for our business initiatives which deliver on our company objectives and which align with our enterprise architecture principles. They lead the development of project architecture and solution design, across multiple architectural domains whilst maintaining an end-to-end view of the overall solution. They will own the project architecture vision which defines the strategy of how we will deliver (“transition states”) and informs the overall roadmap.
What you will be working on
Project Architecture
1. Lead the design of architectural solutions for projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements and architectural principles.
2. Documenting solutions, working with Stakeholders and business analysts to ensure requirements are clear, understood and scoped.
3. Within a change programme, lead the preparation of technical plans, outlining the architecture, integration strategies, and technology stack.
4. Identify and select suitable architectural and design patterns, tailoring them to project requirements to ensure efficient, scalable and maintainable solutions.
5. Apply meticulous attention to detail in architectural work, ensuring accuracy and reliability in solutions.
Solution Design
1. Provide strategic recommendations by conducting thorough impact analysis for business objectives, evaluating options and assessing trade-offs.
2. Deliver clear and concise solutions, ensuring that complex concepts are easily understood and actionable by all stakeholders, facilitating effective decision-making and project progression.
3. Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on other architects’ designs, ensuring they adhere to architectural standards, patterns, principles and align with overall strategic objectives.
4. Contribute to development of architecture standards and patterns.
Relationship Management
1. Build and maintain open communication with stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact while working to business stakeholder strategies and plans.
2. Lead workshops and guide decision-making processes, fostering collaboration and ensuring stakeholders are aligned on architectural decisions and project goals.
What will make you successful in your role?
Essential
1. Experience of creating solution architecture/designs.
2. Technical expertise to allow you to guide and mentor technical staff, influence the technical direction, work closely with wider architecture and solution design.
Beneficial
1. Knowledge of telecoms products, system architecture, and industry standards e.g. TMForum specifications.
2. Experience with Salesforce or Azure.
3. Experience of working in a wholesale environment, managing relationships with multiple suppliers.
4. Experience in developing and maintaining common interfaces for wholesale partners and suppliers.
