Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing international and logistical needs from 3PL to sea, road and air freight. Due to increased global growth, they are looking to appoint a Customs Coordinator to join their Logistics team in Manchester.
As Customs Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating Import and Export activities by directing and supporting multiple parties to ensure timely clearance of goods.
Customs Coordinator duties include:
Coordinat ing Import and Export activities for the resident site, conforming to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and the following governing departments and organisations using the appropriate business systems where applicable.
Liais ing with Customs legal counsel to check Export controls and licensing requirements
Ensur ing all HMRC duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimising cost
Liais ing with, customers, suppliers, necessary agents and customs authorities to address any issues/questions arising from business activities
Dealing with h igh volumes of data entry on spreadsheets
Making customs entry amendment requests to HMRC
Ad - hoc tasks as r equired by the Line Manager
Candidates will need to have at least two years' experience of Exports/Imports and working knowledge of the CDS system, two years working experience of Customs Compliance and regulations, with sound knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with a particular focus on UK & EU imports, as well as HMRC amendment and reclaim experience
Knowledge of transit procedure and ETSF, and experience in road transport, logistics or haulage would also be a distinct advantage.
You'll be organised by nature and able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail. You should be proficient with Microsoft packages, Excel in particular.
In return, the successful Customs Coordinator will receive up to £28,000, plus a benefits package.
