About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machine Hygienist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.
The Machine Hygienist will ensure that all machinery and equipment is cleaned at our site. Our Westry site is responsible for packing potatoes and onions on behalf of our customer Asda.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7am - 7pm & 7pm - 7am (rotating days and nights)
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Keep operational areas clean and to high standards, including the pack house, warehouse, stores, and perimeter of the building.
2. Involved in waste processing, water and electricity readings, monitoring and recording Sodium Hypochlorite readings with relevant corrective actions taken.
3. Handle chemicals as per COSHH training and regulations.
4. Effectively communicate with the Hygiene supervisor/Shift Operations Leader/Area Leader regarding hygiene issues during the shift.
5. Ensure all training is adhered to and all required areas are controlled to meet BRC and COSHH standards.
6. Comply with the Hygiene Cleaning Schedule.
7. Record all completed Hygiene on relevant sign-off sheets.
8. Comply with existing Cleaning Instruction cards and SOPs.
9. Work in a timely manner to maximize efficiency and complete additional tasks during quieter periods.
What are we looking for?
1. Experience working in a factory environment.
2. Good practical skills.
3. The ability to work quickly and methodically within a team environment and follow instructions.
4. An awareness of Health and Safety and understanding of Health and Safety policies in the workplace.
5. Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent.
6. COSHH certification.
7. Good level of understanding of the English language.
8. Willingness to take any training required for this role and work flexibly.
