BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three and four cylinder petrol engines, and precision machining key engine components, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production. Operating seven days a week, with more than one engine rolling off the line per minute, the plant plays a key role in BMW Group’s global production network, supplying engines for BMW and MINI, including some of the latest plug-in hybrid vehicles.
BMW Plant Hams Hall – Production Specialist – 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
Our Production Specialist and Process Leaders are looking for support from a driven and motivated student to ensure the optimisation of processes and technologies in the V engine production systems, guaranteeing organisation and management of production driven improvements. You will have the opportunity to assist in ensuring all problems within are managed and corrected with repeatable and robust methods.
What awaits you?
1. Introduce new technologies into the business, whilst developing all existing technologies.
2. Support the structured management of all value-added production system activities, assisting Production specialists and Process leaders in the development of the work organisation.
3. Assist in process improvements and support in ensuring operational requirements are in place.
4. Support in KPI development and monitoring as well as providing training to the work organisation on KPI reports.
5. Regularly audit processes and corrective actions to validate current conformance.
6. Support with the updating of process documents and systems.
7. Assist in the organisation of team travel plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
8. Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree related to engineering, business or a similar field, and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work well within a team.
11. Able to show passion and enthusiasm, as well as maturity and a professional attitude.
12. High level analytical skills.
13. Strong IT skills (Microsoft office).
14. Confident presentation skills.
15. High intrinsic motivation and creativity.
