Rheumatology Senior Clinical Educator - Nurse
Band 7
We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse to join our team to deliver teaching to University of Nottingham Medical students in the clinical area of Rheumatology and musculoskeletal medicine.
This will predominantly consist of teaching medical students and will include:
* Delivery of clinical workshops and small group skills sessions for medical students.
* Facilitation of student learning in a clinical setting.
* Co-ordination of clinical observation.
* Participation in the provision of training for allied health professionals and other health workers as appropriate.
Appropriate training will be given to the successful applicant.
Ideally, you will be at least 5 years post registration nursing experience, with significant knowledge and skills in Rheumatology. You will have the willingness and ability to develop (with support), your knowledge and skills to an appropriate level to teach medical students. You will be able to demonstrate effective communication and teaching skills and have the ability and willingness to develop practice.

* To play a major teaching role within the clinical educational team.
* To work as a Band 7 nurse with appropriate lead roles and autonomy.
* To liaise with patients concerning their participation in teaching and with Medical Education Staff on administrative aspects.
* To lead on developing training and personal development within the therapy team.
* To undertake the measurement and evaluation of own work and current practices.
* To display exemplary standards of personal and professional behaviour and integrity at all times.

Minimum Requirements
* Degree in Adult Nursing and NMC registration.
* Evidence of post-registration learning including mentoring, assessing and supervising.
* PGCE or certificate on Education.
* Evidence of post registration study within the speciality.
Experience and Knowledge
* Advanced level of theoretical and clinical knowledge and experience of working with patients with rheumatological conditions.
* Experience of mentoring, supervising and developing staff and students.
* Worked in the Clinical Nurse Specialist Role.
* Awareness of the training needs of medical students and ability to work in partnership with medical staff to fulfil those needs.
Skills and Abilities
* Can effectively communicate highly complex, sensitive or contentious information using highly developed interpersonal skills to overcome barriers to acceptance.
* Evidence of the design, delivery and evaluation of learning interventions.
* Able to negotiate, persuade, motivate and reassure others in a sensitive manner.
* Evidence of training in communication skills.
* Has undertaken extended scope of practice training to undertake health professional role e.g. intra-articular injection.
