Children’s Residential Support Worker’s Birmingham
Elwood Healthcare are currently recruiting dedicated children’s residential support workers to support vulnerable children and young people within residential services across the Birmingham area.
As a valued member of the support team, you will be working alongside the dedicated and supportive management team to assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children living with complex needs, learning disabilities and (ASD). Children could present with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs.
The successful applicant will support, mentor and coach our children with day-to-day activities to develop their emotional and social needs.
1. Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
2. Positive engagement to encourage our children and young people in their development
3. Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development plan.
4. Managing complex behaviours that may challenge
5. Support and engagement with a range of activities
You will support in shaping the service offering and play an instrumental part in the development of the service, you will be supported with career development, further training and have the platform to work in a culture that fosters equality and a person-centred approach.

Typical Shift Schedules / Patterns:
2 Days on then 4 days off, shift patterns consist of working 7.30am-11pm plus sleep in, plus 7.30am-11pm plus sleep in then 4 days off.

* 11pm-7.30am Sleep-Ins
Essential criteria:
1. Full UK driving license holder
2. Must hold a Level 3 or 4 QCF/NVQ Children & Young People qualification
3. Must have experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting
