What you'll be doing: As a Senior Project Manager you will manage the successful initiation, planning and design of large-scale projects following agreed business objectives, budgets, benefit expectations and time frames. You will lead complex projects through to closure demonstrating the ability to foresee potential issues throughout delivery, building effective controls and actions to ensure that the project maintains a delivery outcome against the defined project objectives. Develop the project scope and business objectives Evaluation and selection of the project's delivery approach (e.g. agile, waterfall and hybrid) depending on the solution, technology and the scale required Develop the business case, project documentation and project plans Develop schedules and work packages for the technology project delivery team Plan and control projects, produce and update project plans, scope and budget, including detailed resource and activity plans to deliver the agreed projects to specification, within time and budget, and to the agreed level of quality Manage project finance and budgets (forecasts, actual vs planned etc.) Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and change requests Ensure quality assurance mechanisms are in place so that products / deliverables follow agreed requirements Ensure that technology solution requirements are defined following agreed standards, architectures, and governance Support benefits realisation and achievement of target outcomes Manage 3rd party suppliers and resources following agreed ways of working, contracts and SLA's Establish proactive, comprehensive stakeholder management and communications Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in project delivery Contribute to and support a Community of Practice What we are looking for: Significant project management experience in delivering large, complex technology focused projects – budgets of between £1 - £10million upwards and project lengths of 12 months and longer Understanding and experience within the insurance industry, or similar financial services APM/Agile Project Manager/PRINCE2 qualifications ideal Experience managing 3rd party partnerships Experience within a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager role Experience running projects delivering new product launches, large scale re-platforming or transformation would also be beneficial What we’ll give you in return: We wouldn’t be where we are today without our people and the wide variety of perspectives and life experiences they bring.
