Mando Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a UK leading civil engineering contractor.
They are recruiting for an operations manager who will support the General Manager with business and contract growth within the utilities and groundworks sector. This role has been created due to year-on-year growth success, with plans to become a household name within the utilities and groundworks sectors.
The ideal operations manager will have:
1. University degree in civil engineering or equivalent work experience to carry out the role of operations manager with experience in a similar role.
2. Extensive civil engineering and groundworks experience.
3. Competence in all aspects of information transfer from plans to spreadsheets for costing and analysis.
4. Exceptional client-facing skills are a prerequisite.
5. Flexibility is essential.
6. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
7. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
Job Duties
1. To cost and submit tender opportunities within the civil engineering and groundworks sectors while working alongside the operational management.
2. Tender management, including the ability to visit sites to scope and interpret plans and construction details.
3. Manage cost control and application for payments timely at set frequencies while building and maintaining relationships crucial to the continuing success of the project.
4. Maintain and update the Cost Resource Management system.
5. Monitor the performance of contracts while seeking cost reduction opportunities to increase profit through increased efficiency and cost control.
6. Ability to conduct risk assessments and produce a full suite of method statements and risk management packs.
7. Report directly to the General Manager.
