The Opportunity
Based primarily at the Moranan Complex, with the opportunity to get out on-farm around one day a week, this role offers the best of both worlds: variety and career progression, without being tied to a desk.
You'll work closely with the Farm Business Manager and a team of six farms across the upper South Island, with some travel involved.
This is a chance to make a real impact—supporting decision-making through smart data analysis, scenario planning, and performance monitoring.
You’ll play a key role in driving productivity, sustainability, and innovation, helping the business introduce new technologies and initiatives that improve outcomes in areas like greenhouse gas emissions, animal health, safety, and communication.
Your insights and input will directly influence operational and strategic outcomes. A typical day could include:
* Monitoring and analysing performance data to develop actionable insights
* Contributing to high-level planning and scenario analysis
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to build strong working relationships
* Maintaining accurate records and data across farming systems
This is more than just an office job—it's a chance to contribute to the future of sustainable and efficient farming in New Zealand.
About You
Your enthusiasm, passion, and attention to detail will be key to your success in this role. You’re someone who thrives on building strong relationships and will enjoy working alongside a range of people—including some of the industry’s most respected specialists.
You’re analytical by nature, comfortable with data, and confident in using it to inform decisions. Ideally, you’ll bring some experience in agriculture, or at least the willingness to roll up your sleeves and understand the rhythms of farm life.
You will also bring:
* Experience in a similar role
* Strong Excel skills and an eye for detail
* Proven skill in building trusted relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders
* A commitment to promoting and supporting a strong safety culture
* Clear and effective communication—both written and verbal
