An opportunity has arisen for you, a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join this newly formed Data Team and play a crucial role in overhauling this data platform.
As the Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the data strategy, leading the team, and driving progress in terms of data engineering tools and technologies.
This role requires expertise in Azure, Google BigQuery, Python, and ETL processes. Experience with Dynamics 365 is considered ideal but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Data Team and establish a data strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
2. Take ownership of the data platform, overseeing its development, maintenance, and optimization.
3. Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, IT Operations, and D365, to ensure seamless integration and data flow across the organization.
4. Drive the implementation of data engineering tools, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency and data quality.
5. Act as a technical architect and lead, providing guidance on data architecture, design patterns, and technology selection.
6. Document the existing data infrastructure, processes, and workflows, and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
7. Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows using Azure Data Lake, Google BigQuery, Python, and other relevant technologies.
8. Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Extensive experience with Azure, particularly Azure Data Lake.
2. Proficiency in Google BigQuery for large-scale data processing and analytics.
3. Strong programming skills in Python and knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
4. Previous experience in a lead or senior data engineering role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
This role would suit an already experienced Data Engineer looking to take complete ownership of Data within a business.
