Job summary Theatre Services at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust have an opportunity to recruit an experienced, motivated, forward thinking Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner/Clinical Practice Educator (CPE) to work within Theatres Services - Main Theatres and Day Surgery Centre. The successful candidate(s) will have proven experience in a range of specialities and out of hour's emergency work including NCEPOD, Trauma, Paediatrics and Obstetrics. Full participation in 24/7 working including nights, week-ends, evenings and an on-call commitment is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work using your own initiative as well as working effectively within a team will be essential and the successful candidate(s) will need to demonstrate full flexibility within their specialty areas of expertise, working between them as service needs demand. Main duties of the job This job requires the candidate to do 2 days clinical in Anaesthetics and 2 days as a Clinical Practice Educator(CPE) per week. The CPE will plan, implement and evaluate educational activities for trainees, new starters and existing practitioners within Theatre Services and will identify and support training needs where appropriate. The post holder will demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills commensurate with a clinical expert and effective leader; serve as a role model and be an agent of change and a facilitator of work-based learning. Explicit within the role and the outcomes required of it, the CPE will work to ensure standards are established, implemented and sustained, particularly those related to staff knowledge, skills development and patient safety by participating in audits.
