An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Registered Nurse to apply for an 8A Deputy Matron post for Stroke and Neuro-rehabilitation.
The potholder will act in a leadership role working with and deputising for the Matron for Stroke and Neuro-rehabilitation.
This post is working across two hospital sites (JR and NOC) as well as supporting the ESD service which covers the whole of Oxfordshire.
There is a requirement to participate in the Matron weekend rota which is usually one weekend day a month.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional leadership in Stroke and Neuro-rehabilitation Clinical Service Units (CSUs), leading a patient centred service in collaboration with the Matron.
2. Practice as a senior clinical professional for at least 25% of the role, with professionalism, authority and expertise, acting as a role model for other nursing and therapy staff.
3. Undertake full strategic and operational responsibility on behalf of the Matron in her absence.
4. Facilitate the efficient and effective management of resources within Stroke and Neuro-rehabilitation CSUs.
5. Ensure that the standards of the service meet the strategic aims and development of the Trust.
6. Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Clinical Service Units on a day to day basis.
7. Supervise and directly manage associated nursing, therapy and specialist teams.
8. Contribute to the strategic development for the Clinical Service Units including the utilisation of resources which impact on the budget such as staffing, equipment and consumables.
9. Lead areas of development and responsibility as dictated by the requirements of the Clinical Service units.
10. Participate in Divisional Matron Rotas (Includes weekend and Bank Holiday working).
11. Deputise for Directorate Matron.
