Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Bradford, UK
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Industry: Packaging Manufacturing
Job Purpose: As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining the quality of packaging products. You will work closely with the production team to identify areas for improvement, ensure compliance with industry standards, and implement effective quality control measures. This is a key role in maintaining high standards of product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct quality inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications.
* Record and report inspection results, including identifying defects, non-conformance issues, and recommending corrective actions.
* Work closely with production teams to provide technical support and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
* Perform regular calibration and maintenance of quality control instruments and equipment.
* Assist in the development and implementation of quality procedures and standards.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and ISO quality standards.
* Manage and analyse quality data, preparing reports for management to track performance and trends.
* Assist in the training of production staff on quality-related issues and best practices.
* Work on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quality Technician or in a similar quality control role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in packaging.
* Strong understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and problem-solving methodologies.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems.
* Ability to use measurement and testing tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales).
* Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Knowledge of packaging materials and processes is a plus.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* A relevant qualification in Quality Control or a related field (e.g., HNC, NVQ) would be advantageous.
