JOB TITLE: SENIOR MATERIALS ENGINEER
LOCATION: CHELMSFORD
SALARY: £50-£55,000 base salary plus package

As a materials engineer you will provide support to the business using your knowledge and area expertise to ensure fit and suitable manufacturing processes and parts. Using a combination of failure analysis investigation techniques, you will help solve technical issues to ensure product delivery and quality.
A key aspect of this individual is someone that can operate in task driven, laboratory environment working with a team of specialist technicians and engineers. You will be required to understand unfamiliar processes to identify and develop technical manufacturing solutions. The ability to problem solve and demonstrate adaptability is essential.
This role would suit an individual who is interested in working in a multi-disciplinary laboratory environment who thrives on understanding and solving technical problems.
KEY JOB ACTIONS
Optimisation and design of production processes.
Provide technical support and guidance to the assembly and engineering teams.
Implement and maintain process controls through visual management and reporting.
Collect and analyse data for trends and process improvement.
Ensure that Assembly Processes are documented.
Provide technical support to ensure that quality standards are maintained at all times.
Train and mentor staff on existing and new processes.
Ensure that Project activity is delivered to timescale and budget.
Cross functional collaboration to develop new and drive improvement in existing processes.
Provide a monthly report to support site Quality initiatives.
Drive improvement by research and introduction of new equipment and processes.
