Carmichaels are seeking a Site Engineer to work on the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. Reinforced Concrete experience is desirable.
The Site Engineer is responsible on site for supervising other junior engineers and assisting in the construction operations. You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme, and budget.
You will work with the other team members of the setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers, as well as identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements.
Ensuring that the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
About The Candidate
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE).
2. Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
3. Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage is essential for this role.
4. Must have own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
5. Full driving licence required.
6. You must hold the following competencies:
o CSCS White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager or Gold - Supervisor.
