Accountable for cost management on a construction project or programme, including profit & management risk and governance. Advises on appropriateness of various procurement routes.

1. You will support the construction lead on the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
2. You will manage, influence, and negotiate with key senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
3. You will build a strong working relationship with your clients, and support the construction lead in turning the client's vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
4. Advises on appropriateness of various procurement routes.
5. Advises on administrative procedures necessary for the project.
6. Manages procurement process and reports on the outcome.
7. Accountable for overseeing a commercial team.
8. Responsible for cost and contract management in a timely manner.
9. Agrees variations and claims including final accounts.
10. Ensures CVR targets are met and profitability of the project is achieved.
11. Develops relationships with clients and consultants with future work in mind.
12. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

5. Able to communicate effectively and line manage diverse teams.

8. Understand client requirements and promote Mace.
9. Coach & mentor less experienced colleagues.
10. Degree in quantity surveying/commercial management (or equivalent).
11. CSCS.
12. SMSTS.

2. Knowledge of innovative construction technology including MMC.
3. Presentation skills.
4. Identifies development opportunities for high potential employees.
5. Participating and leading initiatives to improve Mace processes.
6. Building and leading a high performing commercial team.
7. Able to chair project team meeting.
8. MRICS/CIOB.
9. Develops relationships with directors inside and outside of Mace.
10. Membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
11. Deep construction management expertise.
12. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
13. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
14. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
15. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
