We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Market Town Officer to join our team on a full-time, 24-month contract. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of our Sustainable Economy Strategy, particularly through the Market Towns Regeneration Framework (MTRF). About the role? You will play a key part in driving initiatives that foster thriving and inclusive markets, tidy and accessible towns, and community wealth-building projects. Utilizing recent research on the sentiment, opportunities, and challenges faced by our four Market Towns, you will help implement the MTRF's objectives. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with town councils, businesses, and stakeholders to enhance the retail, leisure, and recreational offerings in our towns, while ensuring effective communication and partnership-building within the community. This is a new role which will cover the Forest of Dean. This role is being jointly funded by the District Council and all four town councils. Within the District, there are plenty of places to see and visit whether you love hiking or cycling. With our agile working ethos: you will be spoilt for choice. About you? You have professional experience in a similar role with a strong background in community development and project management. You can work independently and demonstrate initiative, producing high-quality work while managing multiple tasks effectively. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build and maintain rapport with diverse stakeholders, from town centre businesses to local councils. You have a deep understanding of the dynamics of town centres, including the challenges they face and the factors contributing to their success. Special Conditions? You will be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service. There may be a requirement to work at other locations to meet the needs of the business.
