To help us deliver exceptional food to our customers, we are looking for a competent, reliable Buyer to work in our small, friendly purchasing team. Ensuring the uninterrupted and on-time supply of ingredients to our production team is the key focus of this role and you will carefully balance capacity, usage and demand to provide exceptional service to your onsite colleagues. You will need to be able to carefully assess data from multiple sources in order to ensure that all ingredients are in stock, in date and ready for production on a daily and weekly basis. Looking forwards to future demand, assessing current stock levels and then buying accordingly will ensure success in this key role.
If you would label yourself an "Excel wiz" and you have really strong administration skills, then this could be the perfect role for you. A background in a purchasing role would enhance your application but no experience is necessary as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced purchasing role.
What you will be doing
* Day to day hands-on purchasing of goods, materials and services to support manufacturing operations
* Perform data analysis using Excel and issue reports on supplier performance
* Monitor deliveries to ensure that goods arrive on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods or other delivery errors to support your goods-in and production colleagues
* Advise on production schedules when required (due to material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions), collaborating with your colleagues in a timely manner
* Monitor utilisation on a daily basis and initiate supplier-related corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery of ingredients
* Supporting internal teams with managing on-site stock levels and supporting with stock counts
* There will be an occasional requirement to perform duties out of office hours to support stock taking checks

* Ability to handle large Microsoft Excel-based data sets reliably
* Detail oriented and able to work in a structured and organised manner
* You enjoy a role where no two days are the same and you are constantly working with changing requirements due to the fast-paced nature of the fresh food industry
