Phoenix is looking for Cover Supervisors with the enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to engage and motivate students. The role is integral to the smooth operation of the school and the enhanced opportunities we aim to provide. The role is primarily to oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, actively supporting the progress of students and recognizing that every lesson is an opportunity to learn. This will include implementing work programmes, assisting students in relevant activities, and providing feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement.
The classes you supervise will change on a daily basis, and you will be required to promote good behaviour in line with school policy.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to a wide range of people. They will be able to work well as part of a team, but also demonstrate initiative and the ability to work alone. Applicants should have experience of working to support children’s learning gained in a relevant environment and demonstrate an understanding of areas of learning, for instance, literacy, numeracy, science, etc.
Phoenix is committed to the protection and safety of its students. An enhanced DBS will be required before commencement in the post, together with a Social Media check, in accordance with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ statutory guidance 2024.
The post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
