The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Eildon, a highly regarded and ambitious organisation, in a pivotal leadership role as our next Development Manager.
The role involves leading a dedicated team of professionals focussed on addressing the current housing emergency through the provision of a complex, multi project programme of new build, affordable homes across of large rural region. Working within a supportive environment, the development team collaborates with other departments to ensure our new build activity is aligned to the full range of local needs and encompasses the Eildon values of Caring, Committed, Connected, and Creative.
Our Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that our new supply investments meet the regional needs of the Scottish Borders and the priorities as set out in our 5-Year Strategy, supporting effective decision-making within Eildon, and working closely with the Executive Team and senior Leadership Group.
About You
To be successful, you’ll need:
• Graduate or equivalent professional qualifications, in a property/construction related field
• Extensive experience of the development process, including land identification, acquisition & conveyancing, design and place-making
• Extensive technical, regulatory, contractual and legal knowledge relating to development, particularly those associated with modern methods of construction and innovated procurement
• Extensive project and programme management experience.
It would be an advantage if you had knowledge of social housing, however, we can support your personal development in policy, legislation, strategy, funding models for affordable housing and procurement processes.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be forward looking and have a continuous improvement focus with strong analytical skills.
