Interim Accounts Assistant (Charity) - Plymouth - £26,000 FTE
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a long established and highly regarded charity that urgently seeks to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join them on an interim contract at their Plymouth based headquarters. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract with an anticipated duration of 3 months, commencing ASAP.
The successful candidate will be well supported by the company’s Finance Manager and an experienced Assistant Accountant. This is a broad role that will entail interaction across all areas of the accounting function, and ensure suitable development of the existing Accounts Assistant. Key responsibilities include:
1. Daily bookkeeping using the charity’s bespoke digital accounting systems (full training provided)
2. Bank reconciliations
3. Overseeing the accounts payable function and managing supplier payment runs
4. Assisting in all aspects of accounts receivable
5. Database management
6. Posting journals, accruals and depreciation reports
7. Preparing monthly payroll and administering employee expenses claims
8. Assisting with month and year-end reporting
For this role, we’re looking for an Accounts Assistant with a minimum of 12 months’ recently gained experience. The role would also be well suited to both an existing Accounts Assistant or a standalone Bookkeeper wishing to work within a small team. Candidates may be part/fully AAT qualified or consider themselves to be qualified by vocational experience. Good all-round accounting experience and use of modern accounting platforms are essential. The role works with colleagues throughout the business and regularly liaises with long-standing customers, so excellent communication and customer service skills are a must!
