Salary commencing at £42,225 with progression to £44,789 per annum

We are recruiting for roles commencing from August 2025.
We are currently recruiting for two Deputy Head positions to support the Head of our new Pudsey Sixth Form campus:
* Deputy Head – Curriculum
* Deputy Head – Pastoral
We seek enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about teaching and learning and can inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential in our brand new sixth form college opening in Pudsey, Leeds.
What You Will Do
* Work as one of two Deputy Heads to develop an outstanding learning environment, embed a culture of success, and ensure the pastoral and extracurricular needs of students are met.
* Lead on the personal development of students and their planning and preparation for their next steps, especially Universities and higher-level apprenticeships.
* Support the Head of Department in all aspects of the Department’s leadership and management, specialising in either or both quality, teaching, learning and assessment and pastoral, extracurricular and support needs.
* Line manage and performance manage lecturers and other staff within the Department and ensure that they develop their professional practice and achieve consistently excellent outcomes.
* Support the progress and personal development of students and support teaching and support staff to ensure outstanding student outcomes.
About You
You should:
* Hold a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
* Hold a relevant higher level vocational qualification or degree in teaching in a subject within the Pudsey Sixth Form curriculum area.
* Act with honesty and integrity to maintain high standards of ethics and professional standards.
* Have proven experience working and managing within an educational environment, including planning, monitoring and reviewing.
* Have an effective knowledge of the college and an appreciation of the wider educational issues.
* Be able to create and appreciate new ideas and perspectives, see possibilities and challenges.
* Be able to manage and promote restorative practice approaches and the strengthening of relationships.
* Be a role model and promote a positive image of the college.
* Be able to embody the college values.
* Be able to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
