An exciting opportunity has arisen for a UK NMC Pin registered Band 6 Midwife to join our team. This can be permanent community or in an integrated post with the Midwifery Led Units at Good Hope Hospital or Heartlands Hospital to suit you.

Our community teams care for a diverse group of women and families providing high quality midwifery care. The service is led by the Community Matron and each team comprises of the Team Leader, Community Midwives, Maternity Support Workers and Community Administrators. Appointed applicants will be well supported and offered a personalised orientation on appointment. Our midwives work a varied range of shift patterns and any working hours will be considered.
Our team is united in bringing quality care to the people and communities within Birmingham and Solihull. To do this we need like-minded people who want to work with us to deliver the very best care to our mothers and babies. The rest we can support you with.
Must have:
* UK driving licence
* UK NMC pin and appropriate work experience in a UK hospital
Main duties of the job
As a registered midwife, the post holder is personally accountable for their practice and must adhere to the NMC standards expected of them.
* Accountable for own professional actions undertaking all duties having regard to the NMC 'Code of Professional conduct'.
* The named midwife and takes responsibility for providing safe and continuous delivery of care to their women and families when on duty.
* Responsible for maintaining midwifery competencies by acquiring and consolidating the requisite knowledge and skills necessary for safe midwifery practice.
* Advise on the promotion of health and the prevention of illness.
* Maintain clinical records in accordance with NMC 'Guidelines on Record Keeping' and Trust policies.
* Contribute to 24 hour midwifery on-call rota to ensure continuing service provision.
* To work a varied range of shift patterns which includes weekends, bank holidays and an on call rota system to support women who choose to labour at home and the Birth Centre.
* To ensure a good working relationship is maintained with the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies.
