Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Specialised Base)
Location: Cardiff
Pay: £13 per hour +
Contract: Full-Time (term time only)
Hours: 08:15am-15:15pm
Start date: Monday 9th January 2025 (ongoing).
About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our specialised base within a vibrant secondary school in Cardiff. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support, including personal care and tube feeding.
Training for all aspects of the role, including tube feeding, will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential.
- Provide personal care as needed, ensuring dignity and respect.
- Assist with tube feeding and other specific medical or dietary needs (training provided).
- Promote social and emotional well-being, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to provide a strong and fulfilling education.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring and patient: Able to provide nurturing and consistent support.
- Adaptable: Ready to respond to the unique and changing needs of students.
- A strong communicator: Comfortable working as part of a team and liaising with various stakeholders.
- Eager to learn: Willing to undertake training for specific care and medical needs.
- Experienced with additional needs: in a personal or professional capacity.
