Job Description:
Leader Education are recruiting a Social and Emotional Classroom Assistant to work within a school based in Bedlington, Northumberland. The ideal Classroom Assistant will have experience in working with young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and experience of supporting in a classroom environment as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.
At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm.
The successful candidate will:
* Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
* Have Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or other relevant qualifications are desirable
* Have effective behaviour management strategies
* Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
* Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
* Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's
* Have previous experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting
