An exciting opportunity has arisen within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapy team for the Community Fast Response Winter Pressure Service. This position provides specialist paediatric respiratory physiotherapy care for children mostly in the community setting within the Bradford area with an aim to prevent avoidable hospital admissions with chest infections in children with complex medial needs.
This role covers a huge variety of activities including assessing and treating Children and Young People in their own homes with signs and symptoms of a chest infection. There is also the opportunity to work in the general paediatric MDT respiratory clinic and see respiratory out patients. Children will be identified for this pilot service by the team surrounding them and you will work collaboratively with the Children's Community Nursing Team and Palliative Care team. Assessing the respiratory status of children and young people with complex medical needs and planning and carrying out appropriate treatment
Working mainly with support, either face to face/remotely from clinical specialist physios or nursing staff.
Planning daily case-load, prioritising work and arranging appropriate follow-up.
Working on the ward to identify patients who may be suitable for an early supported discharge.
Training carers and staff with adjuncts and chest physio techniques

Job responsibilities
To undertake a defined range of high standard professional duties, within the Paediatric physiotherapy team, working across the Trust in a range of ward, out-patient, and community settings.
To assess, develop and implement respiratory physiotherapy treatment for children and young people (CYP) with medical complexity, under the Winter pressures ReACT service .
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse paediatric respiratory presentations, to provide respiratory support and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme to prevent hospital admission, maintain respiratory function and help facilitate early discharge.
To use advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments and management. To work closely with other members of the MDT within health, education, social services to ensure treatment meets the holistic needs of the child.
To share supervision with a more experienced practitioner and assess the performance of assistant practitioners, unqualified staff, peers and colleagues of junior rank or less experience, and physiotherapy students.

4. Significant recent post-graduate experience in the NHS as Physiotherapist
5. Broad Clinical Experience at Physiotherapy practitioner grade to include working within an MDT
6. Significant experience of Respiratory Physiotherapy, including a minimum of 6 months of paediatrics within the last 2 years.
