We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equine Lecturer to join our team at our Houghall Campus. This role will provide you with the opportunity to share your industry expertise and practical experience with learners, helping them achieve their full potential and prepare for a successful career in the equine sector. As an Hourly Paid Lecturer, you will work alongside other academic staff to deliver a high-quality, practical learning experience. You will help students link theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical skills, while ensuring their progress is tracked, assessed, and supported. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with industry experience who is eager to contribute to the development of future equine professionals. Please note as this is an hourly paid position, hours are offered in line with business needs. Main duties: Deliver a training programme in synergy with the course leader which develops mastery of the practical skills required for the learners to achieve their potential and progress to employment or further study. Work with lecturing staff to ensure learners can link the theory they are learning in the classroom to the practical skills they are developing. Ensure health & safety protocols are followed and work with others to promote safe working best practice. Adapt practical teaching techniques to ensure learners with SEND benefit achieve in line with their peers. Contribute to the planning of practical sessions and take responsibility for tracking learner’s progress and target setting for your area of responsibility. Identify learners who are falling behind and contribute towards the development and delivery of appropriate intervention. Contribute to the student assessment process, including providing learner feedback, attending relevant standardisation activities and complying with internal and external quality assurance protocols. Attend team meetings and contribute towards the team objectives. Maintain currency of own industry skills and knowledge and ensure practical instruction meets industry best practice.
