Our client, a prominent player in the water industry, is seeking a Temporary Works Designer for their major wastewater infrastructure projects located in Leeds and Preston. This is a contract role under the AMP8 frameworks, suitable for professionals experienced in temporary works design within the water sector.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop and review temporary works designs for wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, and associated infrastructure.\nEnsure designs comply with CDM regulations, BS 5975, Eurocodes, and other relevant standards.\nCollaborate with site teams, contractors, and third-party consultants to provide engineering support.\nConduct structural analysis and feasibility studies for temporary works solutions such as scaffolding, shoring, propping, formwork, and access systems.\nCarry out risk assessments and ensure designs prioritise health and safety.\nSupport site inspections and audits, providing guidance on best practices for temporary works.\nLiaise with Temporary Works Coordinators (TWC) to ensure correct implementation of designs.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nDegree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).\nExperience in temporary works design within water, utilities, or heavy civil engineering projects.\nStrong knowledge of BS 5975 (Code of practice for temporary works procedures and the permissible stress design of falsework).\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, Tedds, or similar design software.\nExperience with load calculations, structural integrity checks, and stability assessments.\nAbility to work remotely with occasional site visits in the Thames/London/Southern region.\nChartered or near-chartered status (ICE/IStructE) is desirable but not essential.\nIf you possess the skills and experience required for this role, and are ready to take on a challenging and rewarding position in the water sector, apply now to join our client's dynamic project team
