As a Senior Media Relations Manager, you will take a lead strategic role to ensure the delivery of day-to-day media activity in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment to support key business areas, including significant projects working with stakeholders promoting the company’s reputation to external audiences.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Media Relations Manager
* Act as a company spokesperson and communicate the key messages around the company’s refocused Turnaround plan and strategy.
* Manage agency relationships to ensure service standards are met along with budget requirements.
* Act as a trusted business partner and communication consultant to the business and support senior management with media engagement where and when needed.
* Provide a flexible approach to support other roles and other teams across the function at times of peak activity or competing priorities.
* Identify, escalate and mitigate emerging risks as appropriate to protect the reputation and interests of the business and colleagues.
* Be flexible in sharing duties as part of a small team to ensure continuity of service, including covering for other team members.
* Support issue and crisis management with planning and messaging development.
Base location – Hybrid Clear Water Court Reading
Working pattern – 36 hours
What you should bring to the role
* Extensive experience as a press officer or journalist.
* You will have a developed understanding of Media Relations, preferably with experience working in a highly regulated sector.
* You will be working in-house or agency side managing workloads.
* Good media connections are advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in creating briefs and setting up interviews.
* Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience in leading media campaigns using market research and meeting KPI targets.
