We are looking for a high-performing Sales Manager for a market leading commercial flooring contractor based in Essex who are looking for someone to join their expanding group and to become a valuable team member.
The successful candidate in this pivotal role will be responsible for driving revenue growth by securing new business, converting outstanding quotations into contracts, and expanding opportunities within the existing client base. This is a high-performance role that demands a proactive, persistent approach with an unwavering commitment to meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Contract Acquisition:
Primary focus on converting submitted quotations into active, revenue-generating contracts.
Proactively engage with clients to close deals, address objections, and resolve concerns to secure live contracts.
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business.
Actively pursue expansion opportunities within current accounts by understanding client needs, identifying service gaps, and promoting additional products or services.
Prospecting and New Business Development:
As existing contracts stabilise, shift focus to prospecting new business within both existing and emerging markets.
Generate qualified leads through networking, research, cold calling, and industry events to cultivate potential clients.
Target Achievement and Performance Metrics:
Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in alignment with company goals.
Track sales performance, pipeline progression, and contract conversion rates to maintain a clear understanding of sales effectiveness.
Develop and maintain detailed records of sales activities, interactions, and client feedback in the CRM system.
Strategic Planning and Forecasting:
Develop actionable sales strategies and plans, including account-based approaches, to maximize contract wins.
Forecast revenue and prepare sales reports to inform leadership of growth areas, opportunities, and risks.
About the Candidate
Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within the flooring construction, or building materials industry.
Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive environment.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and influence decision-makers.
Professional and persuasive with an emphasis on delivering solutions that meet client needs and close deals.
Self-motivated with a relentless focus on achieving positive results.
Resilient with a “never-give-up” attitude and a high level of personal accountability.
Strong goal-setting skills and the discipline to execute consistently towards high standards.
Able to prioritise effectively, balancing immediate contract acquisition with long term business development goals.
Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and MS Office suite for managing client data and producing reports.
Familiarity with industry-specific software or tools a plus.
