Worcester City Council is seeking a Technical Professional Officer to join our Bereavement Services team. This key role will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services while providing expert technical knowledge and leadership in administrative processes. The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge or experience of management information systems and IT processes within service delivery. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels. A good understanding of legislation, guidance, and requirements for the safe delivery of Bereavement Services, and how these apply to customers, is required. You will be capable of delivering high-quality day-to-day services while developing and planning a specific area of focus, such as customer service. With an open mind and a proactive approach, you will seek innovative ways to improve processes, encourage change, and support colleagues in making improvements. Presenting information in various formats to different audiences will be a key part of the role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should be comfortable working in a busy environment, able to follow and give instructions while maintaining strong working relationships. A good level of literacy, numeracy, and IT proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, is essential. You must also hold a valid driving licence. While not essential, knowledge or experience of bereavement services and a recognised, industry-standard professional qualification and membership relevant to the role would be advantageous.
