The Assistant Cost Manager will join a proactive and cohesive team working together to achieve success at their Bristol office and for their wider business. You will work closely with senior members of the team supporting the delivery of a variety of projects within the build division covering a diverse portfolio of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work towards your RICS accreditation.
Assistant Cost Manager - Responsibilities
Assist with the day-to-day delivery of projects.
Assist in the provision of building cost advice at various RIBA Stages including preparation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, pre-tender estimates and the like.
Undertake measurement in accordance with defined standards.
Assist in evaluating the cost of building designs and alternative proposals.
Assist with the preparation, issue, evaluation and reporting of tenders.
Attending and being actively involved in client and contractor meetings.
Advise upon contract terms and the preparation of building contract documentation.
Assist with agreement of monthly valuations.
Assist with preparation of monthly cost reports.
Assist with valuing and agreeing post contract variations.
Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
Arithmetical checking of documents and calculations.
Undertake cost research, market testing, data capture etc.
Assist with filing of project documentation and ensuring compliance with QA requirements.
Develop skills that will enable you to be the single point of contact taking responsibility for all aspects of a project.
Building relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.Assistant Cost Manager - Requirements
BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction Management / MSc Quantity Surveying (RICS Accredited)
The desire to work towards MRICS
Experience using Microsoft Office software
Experience of relevant QS Software applications, CostX, Bluebeam etc…is desirable
Good communication skills
Experience in report writing
