JOB TITLE: Quality Control Assistant
LOCATION: Stratton Business Park, Biggleswade SG18 8XP
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: 21 hours per week worked over 3 to 5 days per week (dependent on your availability)
PAY RATE: £13.50 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Based in our distribution centre in Bedfordshire, the QC Assistant will work directly alongside the Quality Controller, as well as with the Garment Tech team and warehouse team to ensure that all garments meet the standards of quality required by Apricot.
What your day to day role will involve:
* Develop understanding of the Apricot product as well as our quality standards and protocol manuals
* Measure garments against their specifications accurately and in a timely manner
* Assess the construction and labelling of garments, taking photographs
* Identify whether each garment meets Apricot standards and passes quality control requirements or fails them
* Escalate finding to the Garment Tech team when necessary, for supportive in identifying resolutions
* Where possible, identify possible solutions either in-house, by third party re-processor, or by the supplier
* Report findings to suppliers, following up when required
* General administration, including management of logistical arrangements for sending and receiving of parcels and samples
* Supporting the Quality Controller in all aspects of quality control
* Work collaboratively with the wider warehouse team to ensure that distribution deadlines are always met, in line with critical path requirements
How we imagine you
* Previous or current experience of working in a QC role within a fast-paced womenswear retailer or supplier
* Demonstrable understanding of how to measure a garment and check care label requirements
* High levels of attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent organisational skills
* High standards of written and verbal communication
* Demonstrable understanding of how a range of garments are constructed
* High standards of quality of work
* Able to work at pace and meet deadlines
* Intermediate (or higher) user of MS Excel and Outlook
* Able to work on own initiative whilst remaining compliant with Company processes and requirements
