Description
Technical Support Chemist, based at our Dunniflats depot close to Lugton. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the collection and segregation of small pack chemicals, ensuring chemicals are segregated as appropriate for storage in warehouse and offsite disposal.
You will work closely with the Sales, Business Development and site Operations teams with the collective aim of growing the Enva business across our existing customer base and developing new service offerings, whilst ensuring services are delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
* To carry out waste collections for customers who require collection and disposal of small pack chemicals.
* To carry out listing of waste chemicals for customers.
* To pack and prepare loads for the transport team.
* Ensure chemicals are all segregated and packed/prepped as required by ADR legislation for your own transportation.
* Ensure chemicals are all segregated as appropriate for storage in warehouse and for offsite disposal.
* Bulking of similar materials (solvents, acids, bases etc).
* To attend customer sites and sample materials as and when required.
* Assisting with all laboratory activities as and when required.
* To arrange offsite lab testing as and when required.
* To work on any technical R&D function as instructed by line management.
* Always practice a responsibility and awareness for Health and Safety, ensuring a safe environment for all staff and visitors to site.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Qualification:
* Degree in Chemistry (Hons)
Desirable:
* ADR qualifications
* Chemical Hazard Segregation
Experience:
* Waste resource Management experience
* Excellent IT skills including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
