The CAMHS directorate in North Yorkshireand York locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York Community CAMHS teamsbased at Orca House, the Selby team based at Worsley Court, the Harrogate Teambased at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at Lake House and theNorthallerton Team based at North Moor House with a peripheral clinic inColburn.
This post will provide input into Northallertonpart of the North Yorkshire and York service. Specifically, this service iscommissioned by the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.
It has a Single Point of Access servicestaffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephoneconsultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to allreferrals and help young people and their families with the process ofnavigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. Theservice works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people andtheir families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plansare designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, inorder to provide high quality evidence-based care.
Thispost arises from the funding which has been used for the last 18 months for afixed term 0.6 specialty doctor post, this has proven to be a successful postwhich the service would like to see made permanent, thus the development ofthis permanent position.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will haveresponsibility to work alongside, and under the supervision of, consultantpsychiatrists in the team to provide psychiatric care to young people living inthe Northallerton area.
Thisprovision will include
Clinics at North Moor House: thiswill involve working alongside other clinicians in the medical management ofyoung people with ADHD and will be the majority of the postholders work.Subject to the postholders prior experience and developments needs they mayalso be involved, alongside other clinicians,in the assessment and treatment of young people with significant mentalillness There is considerable flexibility inorganising clinical work but a typical half days clinic would include 2- 3follow up appointments lasting 60 minutes each and/or a new patient assessmentlasting 90 minutes (depending on other clinical meetings) with at least 60minutes of associated clinical administration time.
Liaison with Paediatricians based at JamesCook University Hospital and other nearby hospitals as and when appropriate.
Advice and consultation to themultidisciplinary team.
Involvement in more complex cases, under supervision, using a co-working model,often in partnership with other agencies
