UWCSEA has a vacancy for a part-time Teacher of Japanese (1-year contract) at its East campus to start in August 2025.
The successful candidate will teach the Middle School Japanese language and must be experienced in teaching Japanese Language and Literature to Middle School students. They will be an excellent and inspiring teacher who wants to continually develop their craft.
Please note that to apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore. You must also be readily available from August 2025.

* Teachers demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional aspects of learning.
* Teachers keep parents informed about the learning of their children and are proactive in communication with parents.

Person Specifications
* A relevant degree in teaching Japanese Language, a professional teaching qualification or certification from an accredited institution are essential.
* 3 - 5 years teaching experience, teaching Japanese to middle school aged students (11-14 year olds) preferably in international schools.
* Experience and knowledge integrating UDL principles and inclusive assessment practices.
* Experience and knowledge with conceptual and inquiry-based teaching and learning and associated planning processes.
* Knowledge of data-informed decision-making processes and tools to collect, analyse, and respond to data.
* Knowledge of developments in pedagogy and educational practice.
* Up to date technology practices a desire to embrace new tools, including AI, to support teaching and learning.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
