Multi-disciplinary regional Architectural Practice seeks an Architects Assistant / Junior Architect to support the lead Architect in delivering a £15 million Education Project with additional bids expected to land in early 2025 as part of our client's new local authority framework award!
With around 40 talented professionals across 4 offices in the UK, your role as Architects Assistant / Junior Architect will be to work alongside project leads on larger schemes where you will be involved in every aspect of the project, from preparing feasibility studies and design and access statements to door schedules and detailing. As a key team member, you will have responsibilities and ownership of design and packages of information and be given the opportunity to present your proposals to the client.
Additional Responsibilities for the Architects Assistant / Junior Architect
* Presentation skills are critical; the ability to visually represent your ideas through both 2D diagrams and 3D sketches is key to driving your design ideas forward. Candidates should be able to present their design/work through any form of media (CAD or Graphics/physical modelling/hand sketches).
* Technical knowledge and awareness are essential for good design; candidates should understand construction, be comfortable on site, and demonstrate how they have learned from site feedback.
* Sustainable and modern innovative solutions are part of holistic thinking; awareness of Passivhaus design, timber, and modular construction is beneficial.
* Design through understanding the constraints of the project, from site to client parameters. Resolve problems through collaborative research and self-manage time to meet our and client aspirations.
* While the company offers step-by-step support and mentoring, candidates are expected to be self-driven and have clear goals for their own development, setting their own targets for us to assist them in achieving.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum 3-5 years post-university experience
* Can be Part 2 or recently qualified architect based on the above criteria
* We are seeking someone with a well-rounded skill set
* Neat drawing skills (from presentation to technical detailing)
* Clean modelling skills (both 3D and physical)
* Organised
* Confident in their ability to resolve problems
* Proven project coordination and management experience
The position is remote-based initially and will move to a hybrid working model with 2 days in Leeds city centre in the spring of 2025.
Salary is dependent on experience, ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 per annum plus benefits.
