My client is a global Fortune 500 company with an international presence. They are an independent SRA authorised and regulated legal business offering services to both insured and non-insured clients comprising of businesses, high net worth individuals, and associations across a broad spectrum of industries.
They have an exciting opportunity for a Casualty Solicitor, circa 5-10 PQE to join their Casualty team in Leeds. The dedicated team comprises 6 fee earners, a Partner, Senior Associate, Associate, Solicitor, Trainee, and Paralegal. The work is fast-moving, varied, and challenging.
This is a senior level opportunity where alongside Fee Earning responsibilities, you will support the Head of Department with the supervision of solicitors and paralegals, and in achieving the strategic aims of the department.

What you’ll be doing:
* Provide initial prospects/opinions to insurers on a wide variety of disputes, including those relating to employers liability and public liability within the social welfare, equine, and construction sectors.
* Manage a case load of your own, including recommending reserves and setting strategies under the supervision of a Partner.
* Support the Head of Department with the supervision of solicitors and paralegals, achieving the strategic aims of the department, and assisting in the development of junior members of the team.
* Set and deliver objectives personally and through the team, monitor performance and progress, and provide professional guidance to team members as appropriate.
* Handle a mixed case load of fast track, intermediate, and multi-track work.
To be considered for this role, you will have: existing defendant personal injury litigation experience in both EL/PL and professional liability claims involving personal injury.
Experience in clinical negligence, Animals Act 1971, and policy coverage would be ideal, although not essential.
This role offers an element of home working, but the preferred arrangement is 3 or 4 days a week in the office.
