Transport Development Manager (North)
Your Purpose
This role will be a key member of our Transport Development Team. Working alongside the Head of Transport Development and the wider team the role will support our stakeholders across the Hub, Depot and Delivery teams to make a significant positive impact to Road Safety and transport operational efficiency through the leadership of transport compliance.
The role will cover all aspects of Transport activities that are utilised across EVRi, including but not limited to our LGV and Van operations.
You will be accountable for:
* Setting and developing transport compliance and operational best practice standards across the sites in your area
* Manage, audit and review Transport systems (Tachomaster, Isotrak, DriverCheck, Trailermaster, Van Telemetry) across the area to ensure that the data is accurate and being effectively utilised.
* Work with all teams to achieve DVSA Earned Recognition standards across the business
* Work across the business to ensure standards are met at all times, ensuring we prioritise support where needed based on the utilisation of the Transport metrics
* Ensure each of the sites you are responsible for has the correct knowledge, skills, and qualifications to run a compliant 24/7 transport operation, utilising training and coaching techniques to improve and optimise performance
* Continuous development of the operation, identifying opportunities to improve the business and the way we operate
* Role model and lead all transport standards, initiatives and projects with applicable stakeholders
What skills/qualifications are required?
* Transport Manager CPC holder
* Experience of proactive management in a busy transport operation is essential.
* Proven ability to interpret a variety of data sources to make factual based decisions.
* An in-depth knowledge of driver / vehicle legislation and the ability to audit the level of compliance in a transport office against these standards
* Exceptional eye for detail to spot trends in transport data with the ability to convert that to action.
