The Funding Support Team at Leeds Beckett University are on the lookout for their next recruit! Could it be you?
About the role
It is a really exciting time for the Funding Support Team, with an expanding portfolio of Research and Knowledge Exchange projects and a widened remit supporting key activities across the University. This is your opportunity to get involved and help shape the future of the team.
The team is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented person with a keen eye for finances as this will form a large part of the role, taking responsibility for several externally funded budgets. You may specialize in a particular funder, e.g., Innovate UK, but you will support other areas as needed.
While financial control will take up a large proportion of this role, you will also take on responsibility for other key project coordination activities, such as organizing project meetings and the associated paperwork, preparation of legal documents (i.e., collaboration agreements), and the development of marketing material or other promotional activity.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work with attention to detail to manage government-funded budgets and ensure strict compliance with funding rules and regulations.
2. Successfully monitor government-funded budgets with the ability to forecast and make recommendations to the project team.
3. Liaise with colleagues across the University to support the delivery of complex, high-value projects.
4. Support colleagues in the Funding Support Team to ensure project implementation is successful, efficient, and achieves deliverables.
About you
This opportunity would be perfect for the type of person who loves working with a spreadsheet, who isn’t fazed by large numbers, and who enjoys the challenge of interrogating data to ensure compliance and accuracy. You must have experience of successfully managing and delivering research and/or knowledge exchange projects, ideally with experience of external funding.
You will be highly organized and able to juggle projects at varying stages. You can proactively manage multiple responsibilities, with the ability to dip in and out of tasks seamlessly. You must be a tenacious problem solver, who forward thinks and can plan your time accordingly.
It would be an advantage if you have worked in Higher Education before, or a similar large organization where you were able to follow complex processes and understand the needs of the wider organization.
Why Join Us:
The Funding Support Team are a friendly, supportive, and high-performing team. You will get the opportunity to influence and challenge processes, with plentiful opportunity for development and skills growth. From a wider perspective, Leeds Beckett University is committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where staff can thrive and contribute to the institution's mission of providing high-quality education and research. The university offers competitive benefits and a supportive work culture that values diversity and innovation.
Closing date: Thursday 16th January 2025 (23:59)
