The Automation team is a thriving part of the capital projects team with a significant portion of the site's capital investment being placed into new technologies. The site is investing heavily in industry 4.0 state of the art, bespoke equipment to support sustained new product introductions and volume increases.
In order to meet the growing needs of the site, the automation team are looking for a motivated, qualified engineer to join the team. This role would predominantly be site based and support flexible working policies. We actively support personal development and progression, external training and further education and professional registration.
In this role you will...
* Specification, Procurement, Installation, Acceptance Testing (e.g. FAT/SAT) of automation systems in a licensed GMP commercial plant.
* Ensure compliance with engineering and EHS standards relevant to the service provided.
* Engage with external specialist companies engaged to deliver projects or provide service.
* Develop and deliver improvement strategies to deliver business benefits.
* Take responsibility for supporting senior automation engineers in delivery of site automation strategy.
* Work with site Quality and Validation personnel to ensure automation and control system GMP compliance.
* Implement and complete change controls, CAPAs, and Deviations for automated GMP systems and equipment.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Electronics and Communications or similar disciplines / backgrounds.
* Automation Project Engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
* Demonstrable Technical and operational knowledge of Automation systems (specifically knowledge of Siemens S7, PCS7, WinCC, Keyence, Cognex and SEAVision Vision Systems, ABB and Siemens Drives, Field Instrumentation) for off the shelf and bespoke process and production equipment.
* Experience with various data communication protocols and architectures, including Ethernet I/P, Profibus, Profinet, Data transfer to MES level applications, Historian and SQL Databases.
* Generation and approval of testing protocols, technical reports and documentation.
* Understanding and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and P&ID nomenclature.
* Process and Machinery Safety (UKCA/CE, PUWER, HAZOP, SIL).
* Appreciation of Operational Technology Cyber Security Standards and knowledge of current GMP regulations and an understanding of regulatory agencies expectations and change management in a regulated environment.
