Global Player Junior Content Editor

Your new role
Global Player’s multi-audience Home Hub is central to Global, providing engaging radio, video, podcast, and playlist content. You will be responsible for helping to push this forward alongside the rest of The Global Player team, ensuring the highest quality experience for new and existing users.
Reporting to the Managing Editor of Global Player, you’ll work closely with online editors and our station heads to develop, create, and maintain a world-class content experience in Global Player. You’ll also act as the Global Player team’s representative for at least one of our radio brands.
Furthermore, you’ll work on ensuring a high-quality delivery of content within MyRadio – our award-winning interactive radio services, using your analytical skills to deliver regular reports to Heads of Station, meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* You’ll work across content management for all Global Player Hubs, including the video, playlist, and podcast hubs, as well as each brand’s Home Hub.
* Using your creative writing skills to produce engaging copy to drive video views and increase podcast and playlist listening.
* Weekly analysis of MyRadio – our interactive radio product – link performance, to ensure our continued compliance with licensing agreements with the major record labels.

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
* Generated ideas and content for Global Player across all of our brands and ensured it is delivered to the highest Global standards.
* Worked proactively to drive increased listener numbers and engagement within Global Player – bringing new ideas on how we can reach even more people each month.
* Worked to develop an advanced system of content management to maintain this high standard of output across all platforms and taken the initiative to seek out solutions and new ways of pushing the product forward.
* Communicated effectively across the business, keeping key stakeholders in the loop.
* Built strong relationships with internal teams, from Editorial to Product and beyond.
* Thrived in a supportive, passionate team.
What You’ll Need
* Journalistic/copywriting skills alongside a technical understanding of CMS, digital platforms, etc.
* You will be passionate about the future development of functionality within Global Player.
* Creative writing ability: a talent for crafting copy that resonates with diverse audiences.
* You should be skilled in putting together detailed performance reports via Keynote/PowerPoint for Heads of Station and your line managers.
* Digital expertise: an understanding of the digital landscape, including AI tools.
* An advanced knowledge of Office suite, as well as knowledge of Photoshop.
* A good technical understanding, with experience using audio editing software such as Adobe Audition or Pro Tools would be an advantage.
* Flexibility & positivity: A can-do attitude to manage different projects and deliver top results.
* Attention to detail: ensuring every piece of content is polished and on-brand.
