Description & Requirements
For our European Research Team in London, we are looking to hire an:
Equity Research Associate - European Mid-Caps, (French-speaking)
Berenberg has one of Europe’s largest equity research teams. A deep understanding of industries, companies, and stock markets, detailed financial analysis, and a thorough assessment of management expertise underpin our successful stock picking approach. Berenberg’s team of analysts constantly identifies mispriced shares to provide timely investment recommendations. Freedom of thought and complete independence are core to our research philosophy.
What will you do?
* Conduct research on a range of companies across sectors, attend company presentations, meet with company management, research company accounts/reports and other sources, and draft research notes.
* Financial modelling and company valuation.
* Initiate and maintain your coverage universe of European mid-cap stocks, primarily in France, Spain, Benelux, Switzerland, and the Nordics with the relevant market cap range.
* Undertake various tasks associated with the research function, update databases, review, and archive research material.
Who are we looking for?
* First previous experience as an Equity Research Analyst, preferably with previous coverage of European midcap companies.
* Prior experience and/or interest in covering holding companies/financials is a significant advantage.
* Degree level education or equivalent experience required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of detailed analytical work.
* Advanced IT skills, including all standard Office applications.
* Knowledge of company valuations and financial modelling.
* Fluent in French is essential for the role.
* Visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom is supported.
