Job Profile – Surveyor Consultant – Time and Delay\n\nConstruction professional interested in providing Professional Delay and Time related Advisory Services and Dispute Resolution Services with no limits on scope for personal and career growth.\n\nThe Consultant will report to the Divisional Lead.\n\nThe Consultant will be a professional with a construction related degree who has worked a number of years for:\n\nA business providing Time related Dispute Resolution/Avoidance services and advice; and\n\nA contracting organisation with involvement in managing claims/disputes.\n\nOutstanding candidates with sole employment in one of the above business types will be considered.\n\nThe Consultant will have experience in providing assistance with Time related issues including advice to Clients on delay and the like.\n\nDuties will include, but will not be limited to, the following (with the Senior Consultant’s support and guidance):\n\nReviewing and providing advice on Construction Programmes.\n\nAssisting Clients to avoid disputes by providing professional commercially focussed advice.\n\nAssisting Clients on issues associated with loss and delay.\n\nWork with Commercial consultants to provide assistance on contentious and noncontentious time related matters.\n\nPresent Training to numerous Clients on time and delay related matters.\n\nRepresentation of s Clients in various Tribunals.\n\nWork with Solicitors providing professional assistance on time related construction disputes.\n\nCombined with this, the Consultant may be required to provide managerial support to the Divisional Lead.\n\nThe role requires the Consultant to be a dynamic team player and to be an enthusiastic developer of individuals both technically and personally.\n\nThe Consultant will have the opportunity to be involved in assisting Ramskill Martin with its ambitious growth plans including the design of new Products and Services and diversification into new construction sectors.\n\nPerson Profile\n\nThe Person Profile below details some key aspects that the successful candidate will possess in order to carry out the role of Consultant:\n\nExperience and Expectations\n\nThe successful candidate will be experienced in providing professional time and delay advice or working in a planning and programming role for a contracting organisation. A career, to date, which includes employment by both types of business would be ideal.\n\nA desire to help develop all members of the Professional Team.\n\nExperienced in implementing strategies and the tenacity to follow a project through from inception to completion.\n\nA high level of practical and academic understanding of time and delay matters combined with a clear understanding of ‘construction law’ would be ideal.\n\nBe assertive, confident and comfortable in a meeting environment and able to actively contribute where necessary.\n\nThe ability to deliver a high standard of Services.\n\nThe candidate will have experience of both the JCT, NEC and Non-Standard Forms of Contract and will want to learn more.\n\nAbility and a passion for working as part of a team is paramount.\n\nFurther studies will be actively encouraged.\n\nKnowledge\n\nIt is essential to have a good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC Forms of Contract.\n\nTo be, or aspire to be, an Expert in your professional field.\n\nTo have the drive, passion and personality to assist in the resolution of construction disputes both professionally, commercially and pragmatically.\n\nTo be able to communicate across all levels, both internally throughout the business and externally with Clients, Consultants and the like.\n\nQualifications\n\nThe Candidate will be construction degree qualified, with a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in the industry.\n\nChartered or some other relevant Professional Qualifications would be ideal or a willingness to attain such\n\nIt would be advantageous for the candidate to have a second qualification or an interest and willingness in attaining one.\n\nSkills/Competencies\n\nExcellent communicator; verbally and in written form including Report writing.\n\nA strategic, agile thinker and proven problem solver.\n\nStrong negotiation skills.\n\nFirst class time management skills.\n\nGoal driven with a focus on personal and business success.\n\nCompetent with all standard Microsoft Office software.\n\nAble to promote Products and Services to potential Clients.\n\nFamiliarity and understanding of Programmes and Programming software would be advantageous.\n\nHold a full UK Driving Licence.\n\nWhat Can We Offer You?\n\nThe opportunity for career progression and support from Senior Management in this process.\n\nA strong team ethos and friendly working environment.\n\nA pro-active attitude towards improving both knowledge and personal development.\n\nTraining, Coaching and Support will be provided to the successful candidate.\n\nThe opportunity to gain experience working on a variety of challenging projects in a number of sectors.\n\nCompetitive salary package, benefits and incentives
