About The Role Working Days: Role is required to complete shifts covering all hours of the operations including nights, weekends and weekend nights - key requirement of the role is the flexibility of the shifts worked. As the Cleaning Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team, ensuring that cleaning services meet the highest standards set by the National Cleaning Standards 2021. Your role is pivotal in optimizing staffing levels and promoting a safe, clean environment throughout the hospital. You'll work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with service requirements and contractual obligations. Daily operations will be under your watchful eye, from monitoring cleanliness standards to conducting regular audits. You'll drive innovation within the cleaning department, seeking cost-efficient and sustainable practices. Training and developing your team will be a priority, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively. You'll support a 24/7 cleaning service, fostering communication and support across all shifts. Your leadership will be key in maintaining a high-performance culture, where standards are upheld, and efficiencies are continuously implemented. You'll oversee pest control and window cleaning operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and adheres to schedules. As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership, direction, and delegation to staff. Promote and share best practice. Oversee the delivery of cleaning, pest control and window cleaning at a high level that meets contractual obligations. Identify, mitigate and control risks by taking a risk-based approach to the management of Service Parameters and contracted operational compliance, identifying control measures and monitoring required actions. Identify areas of noncompliance or elevated risk of failure; planning and monitoring remedial actions within agreed timeframes and to agreed action plans. Maximise staffing levels and efficiency by actively engaging with recruitment process, colleague engagement and staff development programs. Have profit and loss accountability for the Cleaning Services to ensure that budgetary targets are met. Actively maximise and protect revenue within the services. The Ideal Candidate Should Meet The Following Criteria Must have Right to Work in the UK An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate. BICS would be highly desirable. Managerial experience of large multi-skilled teams. Cleaning experience with knowledge of infection control in a hospital environment and 2021 cleaning standards. Experience of P&L and budgetary management. Experience in report writing for complex subjects to be effectively communicated to various stakeholders.
