About the role Leading a large team of experienced Finance professionals or team leaders. Leading the development of key components of financial plans, manages & monitors financial initiatives and controls. Evaluates & recommends strategies for financial & budget plans, advises senior management on financial matters. Key Responsibilities: As a UK Head of Finance, you’ll be responsible for: All day-to-day finance processes, incl. - Controllership (Order-to-cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, statutory reporting, monthly closing, etc.); - Manufacturing Finance (Site Ops KPIs, Cost accounting, GL Close Process, Excess & Obsolete); - Treasury (banking relationships and bank balances); - Insurance (local managed policies, co-ordination on global policies); -Tax (compliance, tax planning, transfer pricing, local filings, tax accounting & reporting, financial risk management, corporate income tax, etc.); - Serve as Senior Accounting Officer (Filings, HRMC contacts, VAT returns, etc.) - Liaise with FP&A team ref inputs into planning, budgeting & forecasting; - Responsible for managing the transition of Kidde Products finance processes from Carrier to a standalone company, establishing a newly formed finance team; - Lead / mentor a team, fostering a collaborative & high-performance culture; - Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, reporting systems; - Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, enforcing policies & procedures; - Establish, monitor & enforce internal controls to protect assets; - Monitor & confirm financial condition by managing audits / providing information to external auditors; - Support financial systems implementation; - Oversee day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy & timely reporting; - Provide timely monthly management reporting for UK operations, incl. support of variance analysis & rolling financial forecast in partnership with the Financial Analyst 7 operations leaders; - Support the annual budgeting process for UK operations in partnership with the Financial Analyst & operations leaders by establishing schedules; data collection / analysis / consolidating; - Provide insights & recommendations to UK General Manager for informed decision-making; - Prepare & present comprehensive financial reports to executive leadership, providing insights & recommendation; - Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and proactively manage financial risks. Candidate requirements: - ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification & experience with UK GAAP reporting requirements (Knowledge of US GAAP is desirable) - Analytical, numerical & problem solving skills ability to work and deliver within tight timelines - Proven experience in a senior finance role in an international environment As a minimum you must have: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification Familiarity & experience with UK GAAP reporting requirements (knowledge of US GAAP is a plus) Analytical, numerical & problem solving skills; ability to work & deliver within tight timelines Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a global business with operations UK based & sales across Europe Broad management & leadership knowledge to lead project teams Experience in manufacturing accounting University Degree or equivalent experience (min. 8 years prior relevant experience) or Advanced Degree in related field (min. 5 years experience) Our commitment to you Our greatest assets are the expertise, creativity and passion of our employees.
