Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Shift Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Corby. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment and facilities. As a multi skilled engineer, you will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal machine performance to support production demands.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to ensure minimal downtime.
* Conduct fault-finding on production equipment and provide effective solutions.
* Collaborate with the production team to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues promptly.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to optimize machine performance.
* Support planned maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment when required.

Key Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Multiskilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Experience with PLCs and automated systems (desirable).
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Flexible and adaptable to work on rotational shifts.

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar role within electronics manufacturing or automation. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for system design. Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and embedded systems. Experience with sensors, actuators, and IoT integration. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting complex systems. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
