Development Associate / Senior Associate
This is a fantastic opportunity for a 3-10 years PQE lawyer to join a leading law firm as a Development Associate. The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Real Estate lawyer to join their Social Housing team, which is one of the largest teams at the company. The successful candidate will be based in Birmingham.
The company is renowned for its full legal services from Governance, Finance, Housing Management, Construction and Procurement together with real estate. They have a large and expanding client base of Registered Providers, and they are looking for a candidate who can act for these providers in the acquisition of development sites, package deals, and S.106 units, both turnkey and golden brick arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED:
- Act for Registered Providers in the acquisition of development sites, package deals, and S.106 units, both turnkey and golden brick arrangements.
- Work with minimal supervision on routine transactions such as conditional and unconditional contracts, options, golden-brick and other affordable housing transactions, back-to-back sales, deeds of easement, infrastructure agreements, overages, etc.
- Supervise and line manage junior staff.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- A proven track-record in acting for Registered Providers and/or house builders, developers, land owners, local authorities contracting with Registered Providers.
- Good client relationships and a keen interest for business development.
- A good understanding of affordable housing transactions and how they interlink with plot sales and charging to lenders.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to supervise and line manage junior staff.
