The successful applicant will attend university one day per week to gain a degree in building surveying, while working the rest of the week in the office. You will therefore need to have the prerequisite school or college qualifications to gain entry onto a university course to study a BSc Building Surveying degree.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nProducing detailed reports and recommendations\nIdentifying defects and advising on remedial works\nOffering advice on proposed alterations, improvements and extensions\nPreparing budgets and schedules\nAdvising on environmental and safety issues\nMeeting with clients and contractors to oversee progress\nOffering advice in relation to legal and planning issues\nWorking on-site and in an office.\n\nRequirements:\nExperience using Word, PowerPoint and Excel desired\nAbility to adapt, working independently and as part of a team\nGood written and verbal communication skills\nAptitude to learn and have a strong desire to become a chartered building surveyor.\nA team player with a âcan-doâ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible\nProactive in your approach to learning and working at the same time Microsoft skills, communication and building surveying duties you will learn to adapt to different situations and be supported by the team. You must have the relevant qualifications to enrol onto a university degree course. You will be a confident approachable person who communicates well at all levels and be flexible with your approach to work and studying the apprenticeship degree. You will be supported by the team in the Edinburgh office.
